Motorized access changes the experience
The Power Pet panel lifts rather than requiring the animal to push through a flap. That can be useful for pets that dislike pushing a heavy or weather-sealed flap, and it lets the system close and lock after passage.
High Tech Pet also sells Wi-Fi-enabled versions with remote control and scheduling. Treat those connected features as optional convenience rather than the reason to ignore basic opening size and installation fit.
Collar activation is the key tradeoff
The classic Power Pet system uses an ultrasonic collar transmitter. This can provide directional access control, but it also means the pet must wear and maintain a compatible collar device.
Compare that with implanted-microchip doors, where identity stays with the animal. Neither method is universally better; the correct choice depends on collar tolerance, pet size and how much automation you want.
Measure the installation before buying
High Tech Pet offers door, wall and patio configurations in multiple sizes. Measure the pet’s body dimensions and the actual installation surface before choosing a model.
The opening-size decision should come before Wi-Fi, timers or remote control. A sophisticated door is still a poor fit if the animal has to squeeze through it.
Who should consider it
Consider Power Pet if a powered panel, scheduled access and collar-specific activation solve a real household problem. Owners who only need selective entry for a cat may find a simpler microchip flap more economical.
