Why stainless steel is different
A stainless-steel pan does not absorb scratches and odors in the same way as heavily worn plastic can. It is still not maintenance-free: urine residue, litter dust and seams around removable parts need regular cleaning.
The main advantage is durability and a nonporous primary pan, not automatic waste handling.
Size matters more than the material
Bartuke sells multiple large and extra-large formats. Measure the cat and the available floor area rather than assuming the largest model is automatically best.
A box should provide enough turning room while leaving space for entry, litter mats and human cleaning access.
Useful as an automatic-box backup
A conventional box is valuable during robot training, outages, deep cleaning or when a cat temporarily refuses the automatic unit. A large stainless box can fill that role without duplicating another expensive machine.
For multi-cat households, a backup also reduces the risk that one mechanical failure removes every available toilet option.
Who should buy it
Choose Bartuke if you want a durable manual box and accept daily scooping. If eliminating scooping is the primary goal, stay focused on automatic-litter-box systems instead.
